About Advisory
All NP3 Kinder - 5th grade students have a classroom teacher and 6th - 12th grade students have an Advisory teacher. The classroom/Advisory teacher is the students’ and parents’ first line of communication with NP3. Throughout the school year, the classroom/Advisory teacher contacts each of their student’s parents/guardians at least once a month, often through email. Each class forms a bond and creates a small learning community within our bigger NP3 family.
Each class promotes social emotional learning and community building through sharing circles. Elementary students participate in morning meetings, middle school students participate in ‘circles of power and respect’ (CPR), and high school students participate in circles/councils.
The classroom/Advisory teacher checks students’ grades regularly, and may make referrals to Tutorials/Intervention, individualized teachers support and/or the student’s Counselor. They help students to publicize Service Learning opportunities and explore Career & College options.
School Counseling
School counselors support all students by developing social-emotional education and interventions. Throughout the school year, they meet with students as needed to discuss plans and address personal concerns. Counselors also visit classrooms to deliver lessons and collaborate with teachers to ensure each student receives the support they need. Students can request to see their counselor, and referrals can also be made by parents or teachers.

The vision of NP3 counselors is to promote student resource and resiliency through informed and responsive practices. We will foster a healthy and safe community. We will be focused on student centered outcomes that are equitable and culturally responsive.
Counseling Resources
NOTE: Because our Advisory teachers are teaching most of the day, and our Counselors schedule many appointments with students every day (including before and after school), please be sure to call or email in advance to make an appointment. We know that your time is valuable, too, and we don’t want you to have a long wait until your student’s Counselor or Advisory teacher is available to speak with you.
