FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a free form that students use to apply for federal, state, and school financial aid.
What it's for
The FAFSA is used to apply for grants, work-study, and loans for college and career school.
How it works
Students fill out the FAFSA and submit it to the schools they're interested in by the deadline. Colleges and states use the FAFSA data to determine eligibility for aid.
When to apply
The FAFSA is available starting October 1 before the applicable academic year, with a June 30 deadline for federal aid eligibility.
To complete the FAFSA students and their parents will need to create an FSA ID. The FSA ID is used as an electronic signature and should not be shared.
NP3 Financial Aid Night
NP3 High School will be hosting a Financial Aid Night again this year for senior students and their parents. This night will include a presentation on the different types of financial aid presented by the Financial Aid Department at Sacramento City College, as well as time for students and parents to work on the FAFSA with the assistance of NP3 counselors and the financial aid department representatives for Sacramento City College.
The Financial Aid Night will be held in October in the NP3 Library. Chromebooks will be available for students and families to use. More specific information on this evening will be announced in the fall.
